The covers are tan with brown speckles on paper. There are small labels on the cover of two volumes. There are antique paper labels on the backstrip. There is a small dark brown spot on the backstrip of Volume 1 & 2. The back covers match the front covers. There is a 1 cm horizontal tear on the edge of Volume 1 with the paper curled upward. There is a detailed black and white illustration on the frontispiece. Volume 1: There is moderate to heavy foxing on the title page. The interior pages are mildly tanned and intact with occasional dark foxing spots throughout. 454 pages. Volume 2: The pages are lightly textured and white with occasional mild tanning or dark foxing spots throughout. 416 pages. Volume 3: There is heavy tanning / foxing on the title page. The interior pages are moderately to heavily tanned throughout with occasional dark brown foxing spots. 418 pages.
